Choice:  The right, power or chance to choose.  Suggests the privilege of choosing as granted by a person or group in authority that normally exercises the power; limiting choices to 1 of 2 possibilities.   
Choose:  To compel.

We can learn to give choices to our children that compel their compliance to the rules of the household and teach them by repetition to come the first time they are called happily and cheerfully.
